Message from Boys & Girls Clubs Of SWVA
It’s no secret that things are tough right now. The problems in the world today feel huge. Because they are. But there is hope. Real hope. We see it every day in our children. Today’s young people are tomorrow’s leaders, innovators and problem solvers — the ones who will make good on “enough is enough.” But too many kids don’t have a safe place to go after school, aren’t sure where their next meal will come from, and often don’t have the support they need to prepare for college or a career. That's where Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Virginia steps in. When you give a gift of any size to Boys & Girls Clubs of SWVA, your dollars provide a safe haven, healthy snack, mentors and academic support, and create Great Futures for young people in Franklin County and neighboring communities in Southwest Virginia. We only have one next generation. We’re counting on them. They’re counting on us. Thank you giving them the powerful moments that matter most.
Overview of Services
Our Franklin County Clubs are located at Rocky Mount Elementary School and Lee M. Waid Elementary School. We provide after-school and summer youth development programming at 11 Club sites across Southwest Virginia for children and teens ages 6-18 at little to no cost to the families we serve. Our programming centers around 3 core outcomes - academic success, healthy lifestyles, and good character & citizenship. We help youth realize their full potential through a variety of experiences and opportunities, give them a safe place to land between school and home, and offer the support of caring and dependable adult mentors.
