A message from Friends of Booker T. Washington National Monument
Booker T. Washington encouraged all Americans to cast down their buckets among one another to ensure the prosperity and protection of this country. Understanding we depend on each other; the Friends of Booker T. Washington National Monument appreciate your contribution and participation in our effort to protect and preserve the resources at this National Park and the legacy of Booker T. Washington. Your contributions to the Friends group help host and support activities such as: Park programs at Juneteenth, Harvest Festival, and Old Virginia Christmas; annual scholarships to Franklin County High School seniors; training events for volunteers and the community; and youth activities.
Overview of Services
The Friends implement an annual program for membership, host an annual Legacy Dinner and Freedom walk, support Franklin County High School scholarships and raise funds and awareness for the Park in the areas where federal shortages cannot support programs, events and personnel.
