To develop communities with more affordable, stable and Good Quality Housing to low income individuals and families. We will have a team of housing counselors that will assist individuals and families by providing educational services and resources. >
Bedford Humane Society, Inc

Our mission and goal at the Bedford Humane Society is the elimination of pet overpopulation and suffering in the town and county of Bedford Virginia, as well as the prevention of animal cruelty and neglect.  We strive to achieve these goals through our programs, pet adoptions and through advocacy and humane education. >

Bedford Ride/Central Virginia Alliance for Community Living, Inc.

Bedford Ride/CVACL mission is to support older adults and persons with disabilities to live with dignity in accordance with their own personal choice and strives to provide access to medical care for Bedford County citizens. >

Boys & Girls Clubs Of SWVA

To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.>

Children's Assistive Technology Service​

C.A.T.S. helps children with physical and developmental disabilities that affect movement, behavior, or communication have better health outcomes; participate more fully in school; engage socially; and achieve greater independence.  We do this by refurbishing and redistributing donated assistive technology; educating pediatric clinicians, teachers, and caregivers; and advocating for responsive and responsible public health policy. >

Ferrum College Theatre
Arts Department

Ferrum College is a dynamic learning community where students enter with promise and leave with purpose. 

As part of the Performing Arts at Ferrum College, the Theatre Department serves the community by bringing together people of diverse ages and backgrounds to celebrate together, confront challenging ideas together, and create shared experiences, to build a sense of belonging. The Ferrum College Theatre Department teaches students to be collaborative, sustainably focused, and innovative problem solvers. >

Franklin County Humane Society Inc. / Planned Pethood Clinic & Adoption Center

The purpose of this organization shall be the prevention of cruelty to animals. Our mission is to create a community where all dogs and cats get a chance for a healthy and happy life in a loving home by promoting rescue, adoption and spay/neuter. Our Planned Pethood Clinic is dedicated to reducing pet overpopulation through spay neuters and also provides wellness services for the animals at our Adoption Center and for animals in our community.  >

Friends of Booker T. Washington National Monument

To support the preservation for Booker T. Washington National Monument and its mission through volunteerism, financial support, advocacy and increased community involvement. To promote public awareness and appreciation of Booker T. Washington. >

Helping Hands of Franklin County

Helping Hands of Franklin County provides emergency financial assistance to the citizens of Franklin County. This usually comes in the form of help with utilities and rent, but we do help with other emergency financial situations as the need arises. >

New Life Center for Thoroughbreds

New Life Center for Thoroughbreds is dedicated to helping save retired Thoroughbred racehorses and providing them with a new purpose and a new life while educating the public on the athleticism, kind nature, and versatility of the retired Thoroughbred. >

ONE Forest School

Our mission is to give those who come to ONE Forest School, in Deerhead Nature Preserve, an Organic Nature Experience by providing authentic learning opportunities to engage in nature, in a meaningful, lasting and holistic manner. We strive to instill a positive regard for nature and responsible stewardship. We foster a sense of community and a shared learning experience. Our traditional forest school programs build resilient, confident, and independent learners. >

Reel Connections for Kids

The Mission of Reel Connections for Kids, Inc. shall be to provide opportunities for 

under-served children ages 8 through 12 to take part in fishing experiences that will connect the participants with fellow anglers while having the guidance of a professional Smith Mountain Lake guide.  Through participation in an enjoyable and educational fishing experience, the goal is for children to gain a useful skill, develop a lasting connection with the lake, gain an understanding of the need for conservation, and develop an appreciation for the need for safety on the water.

The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southwest Virginia (RMHC-SWVA) is to provide an environment of love, community, and hope to families of seriously ill children.>

Smith Mountain Lake YMCA - Franklin County

The YMCA is a charitable association dedicated to building healthy spirit, mind, and body. The Franklin County Family YMCA is an association of members, volunteers, contributors, and staff, putting Christian principles into practice through programs that promote healthy lifestyles, strong families, positive youth development, community strength, and international understanding. Ys are for people of all faiths, races, abilities, ages, and incomes.>

SML Good Neighbors, Inc.

Developing good neighbors skills and values in children through programs that nourish, educate and support them while providing life-changing experiences for college students through leadership development internships. >

Food For Kids Weekend Pack-A-Snack​

To address food insecurity and promote learning and self worth for area children by providing weekend meals for students at Moneta, Montvale, Goodview and Huddleston Elementary schools, through the help of a a caring, supportive community . >

Southern Virginia Child Advocacy Center

Southern VA Child Advocacy Center offers a unique opportunity to engage the community in the prevention and treatment of family and community based violence. Through a comprehensive response by multiple agencies, the center provides support and resources to victims of abuse and/or neglect, as well as their non-offending caregivers. These services include facilitating community-based multidisciplinary teams and case management >

Stewartsville First Aid and Rescue Crew, INC

We are a non-profit, all volunteer Corporation composed of members whose qualifications range from Emergency Vehicle operators to Paramedics.  

 

Mission: 

The mission of this organization shall be:  

  • to form a body of persons dedicated to saving lives and providing pre-hospital emergency care. 

  • to teach methods of safety and emergency care to the general public, schools and other groups. 

  • to assist the citizens of the Stewartsville and surrounding communities in the event of life-threatening disasters and other emergencies as they arise.

Virginia Children's Theatre​
