Mission Statement
New Life Center for Thoroughbreds is an organization on a mission to reduce and eventually eliminate the slaughter of retired Thoroughbred racehorses.
A message from New Life Center for Thoroughbreds, Inc.
As a young, local non-profit organization, New Life Center for Thoroughbreds strives not only to save the retired Thoroughbred racehorse through our 5R (rescue, rehabilitation, retrain, rehome or retire) process, but seeks to give back to our Community by showing others the kind, gentle and healing nature of the horse. We are both humbled and excited about the support and traction we received in 2022 and very much look forward to building upon that in 2023! We look forward to meeting more of our Community and welcome visitors to our farm located on 122 in Wirtz, VA.
Overview of Services
We provide the rescue, rehabilitation, retraining and rehoming for retired racehorses in need. Additionally, we offer sanctuary for horses that need to be retired so they can live out their lives in peace and harmony. We offer education, clinics and training support for those who have a retired racehorse or are looking to purchase one. We offer a venue for other charities to hold events and wish to give back to the community by working with retirement communities, hospice and veteran organizations.
