The Bedford Boys Tribute Center was opened in June 2019 with the purpose of sharing the stories about our beloved Bedford Boys that made the ultimate sacrifice on 6 June 1944 on the beaches of Normandy, France. Nineteen men were killed in the first nine minutes of the invasion on Omaha Beach, Dog Green sector.
Our goal is to help visitors learn more about who they were as individuals before WWII, their families, and their fellow troops who died at a later time during the war, and those who returned home.
We have the largest group of personal items owned by the boys on loan from their families. We give tours of our museum on a daily basis to individuals and groups. Each spring, sixth graders from all three Bedford County School Districts visit our site and the National D-Day Memorial.
Family members of the Bedford Boys and all Bedford County residents are invited to visit our museum and take the tours at no charge. We feel this is something that we should do for them. Otherwise, visitors are charged a $5 admission fee for adults, $3 for students ages 11 to 17, and children under 10 are free.
We are a 501(C)3 nonprofit organization. Our funding comes from admission fees and donors like you. We thank you for your consideration of our museum on this day of giving.
