Welcome to Bedford Cares, a 501c3 nonprofit started by Bedford VA residents to help provide hands-on support for the humane management of feral cat populations. Because they are typically unsocialized, adult feral cats are generally not good candidates for adoption. It's best to keep them out of shelters and continue to provide medical care, shelter, and food in their existing territories.

We teach property owners how to do TNR themselves, loan them equipment, and when necessary, provide assistance in securing spay/neuter and medical care.  Please join us! We always need volunteers to trap, overnight, and transport cats, as well as to foster kittens and socialize them for adoption. We rely almost entirely on the generosity of our donors to pay for neutering and medical care of Bedford County's feral cats.
