The mission of Quilts of Valor Foundation is to cover service members (Active Duty or Veterans) touched by war, with comforting and healing quilts.   

Quilts = Healing

The Three-Part Message to our recipients:

1. Thank You for Your Service
    First and foremost, we want to express our deep gratitude for your service to our country. Whether you served during times of crisis or in times of peace, we are thankful that you left behind everything you hold dear to protect and serve.
2. Acknowledging Your Sacrifice
    We understand that freedom is not free. The cost of our freedom has been paid by men and women like you. This quilt serves as a token of appreciation for the sacrifices you have made to secure that freedom.
3. Offering Comfort
   Finally, this quilt is meant to offer you comfort. As we wrap you in it, we want you to know that you are forever in our thoughts and hearts. We hope it brings you peace and reassurance.

Your Quilt of Valor consists of three layers:

• The Top Layer: Made of various colors, shapes, and fabrics, it represents the diversity of the communities and individuals who make up our nation. It is a visual representation of the many people who come together to support and honor you.
• The Batting (Filler): The center of the quilt, providing warmth, comfort, and peace. It symbolizes our hope that this quilt will bring you healing, warmth, and comfort.
• The Backing: This layer provides strength and support to the other layers. It represents your own strength, as well as the support of your family, your community, and your nation. Each stitch that binds the layers together represents the love, gratitude, and sometimes even the tears of the makers.
