SML Women's Club

About Smith Mountain Lake Women's Club (SMLWC)

The SML Women's Club was originally formed in 1978 under the name “Village Women's Club.” In 1988 they decided to change the name to better reflect the demographic of their members. SMLWC continues to be a force for compassion and volunteerism in the community, values upon which it was founded.

The SMLWC is a charitable, volunteer-based organization open to all residents of the Smith Mountain Lake area. Our members dedicate their time and talents to supporting local and national initiatives in the arts, conservation, education, home life, women’s health, and other areas of community service. Funds raised through GAMEFEST, our annual fundraiser, are donated to charities that share these commitments. In addition, the SMLWC awards two $1,500 scholarships to young women who demonstrate these same values through their academic achievements, community involvement, and future goals.
