SML Gives Inc.

At SML Gives Inc., we believe no neighbor should go to bed hungry. Born out of the heart of Smith Mountain Lake, our mission is simple but mighty: to unite neighbors, businesses, and community partners in the fight against hunger and poverty, ensuring no one is left behind and no one goes to bed hungry.

We provide hope and help one meal at a time through our Mobile Food Distribution.   Through our food delivery program we partner with pantries and deliver fresh, nutritious food directly to neighbors who are homebound or without transportation.

While SML Gives Inc. is a recent addition to the family of nonprofit organizations serving the Smith Mountain Lake region, we bring strong community partnerships, lived experience, and a long-term vision for sustainable impact. Our future includes establishing a permanent location in southwestern Franklin County, allowing us to expand food access and support neighbors where they live, in collaboration with other local organizations. 

At the heart of SML Gives Inc is a simple belief: when neighbors come together, real and lasting change is possible. Our programs are designed to meet immediate needs while also building pathways toward stability, connection, and hope for individuals and families across our region.  While our food delivery program, launched in September 2025, is at the heart of SML Gives Inc, our second initiative, the Partner Pantry Program, will launch by the summer and our SML Gives Empowerment Center will soon follow, working towards a December 2026 opening.

SML Gives Inc was built to respond to real needs with compassion, dignity, and community-driven solutions. Through a growing network of programs, we work alongside partners and neighbors to ensure food access today while investing in stronger, more resilient futures.
