Message for Ronald McDonal House Charities of Southwest Virginia
When a child is receiving medical treatment for serious illness or injury, taking away the worry of “what are we going to eat?” “who delivers?” “what’s for dinner?” is a wonderful relief. The Ronald McDonald House and the Ronald McDonaldFamily Room provide food and meals for our families, so they have one less thing to worry about. Often parents forget to take care of themselves when their focus is completely on their child, we are here to make it easier for them to be able to keep their energy and health up so they can take even better care of their sick child. Providing snacks, breakfast and lunch food items, and providing a home-cooked dinner is one of the most important ways we can provide our guest families with the comfort of home, especially after a long day at the hospital.
Providing food for over 1,500 families a year costs money, and we are asking for your help in raising $5,000 towards our pantry costs. The money raised will help us to continue to offer our families the necessary pieces to make sure they are taken care of so they can focus all their energy on their sick child.
